1. What is semi permanent makeup* / Microblading?

Getting permanent cosmetics is a procedure of introducing quality coloured pigments into the dermal layer of the skin (epidermis). Patients are given topical anaesthetic to numb the skin and, after the anaesthetic takes effect, the therapy can begin. The overall procedure usually takes about one to two hours.

The technique relies on a highly-trained practitioner’s skilled use of precision needles and advanced skin pigments to colour the upper layer of the skin (the epidermis). These pigments are “permanent” compared with normal cosmetics – but semi-permanent * in that, as the skin gradually replaces itself, they’ll fade over several years. See more on our sister site here

2. Why use this technique??

Sometimes, for many reasons, eyebrows, eyes, lips and other features benefit from “replacement” or accentuation. Perhaps eyebrows have become sparse through over-tweezing, or have completely disappeared due to alopecia?

In these situations, semi-permanent makeup */ Microblading for the eyebrows could be the answer. Or maybe your eyes would benefit from the enhanced definition of semi-permanent eye makeup – or perhaps your lip shape (semi-permanent lip * makeup)? In each case, just two visits to our conveniently located salons can make a huge difference. Each visit takes a couple of hours – the benefit lasts for years

3. How long does Semi Permanent makeup* / Microblading last?

Semi permanent make-up * may sometimes be considered permanent since the implanted pigment cannot be washed off. In time, fading will occur and some or all of the colour will need to be reapplied. Semi permanent make-up */ Microblaind can last up to two to five years and will gradually fade away. Redeem recommend a top up after 18 months to boost colour and definition. Some think that because some clinic actually tattoo brows and some eyebrow tattoo cost is less than semi permanent makeup * then brows that last a life time must be better. As we know nearly all tattoos with blur and give a bleed effect over time also as we age our facial skin starts to change shape and in these cases so will your eyebrows, this is why we always recommend semi permanent * only. You should however be aware that on occasion some of the inks may become permanent, especially when using the microblading method.

5. Does Semi Permanent makeup*/ Microblading hurt?

For most people it isn’t a problem. For others it can be a little uncomfortable depending on the individual’s pain threshold, generally it is understood to be no more painful than having your eyebrows tweezed. However anaesthetic creams are always applied prior and throughout treatment to keep any discomfort to a minimum.

6. Is Semi Permanent makeup * / Microblading safe?

Yes, Redeem technicians follow the strictest hygiene and sterilisation standards and pre-packed, sterile cartridges are new for each client. No chemicals are used, only minerals and glycerine. Clients are given an allergy test prior to treatment. Also the beauty of semi permanent makeup * is that unlike eyebrow tattoos, lip tattoos, eyeliner tattoos or microblading the treatment is not permanent (as the pigments should only enter the epidermis layer of the skin) so in year to come should you decide to revert to your natural look then this is quite possible . An eyebrow tattoo cost etc is that unfortunately unless lasered off the client is stuck with these for life.

7. Who can benefit from Semi Permanent makeup */ Microblaing?

Anyone and everyone who desires a natural enhancement and to give freedom from the daily application of make-up.

Alopecia sufferers who have lost some or all their facial hair including eyebrows or eyelashes.

Chemotherapy patients who may loose facial hair would benefit from semi permanent make-up before or after treatment.

Vision impaired people who have difficulty applying make-up.

People with unsteady hands who cannot apply make-up through Arthritis, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons Disease etc.

Anyone who may suffer allergies with conventional make-up.

Professional women, entertainers, media figures, models, actresses.

An eyebrow tattoo cost can be that in year  to come the brows will change shape and blur into an unnatural look, with semi permanent makeup * this does not happen as over time the brows can be repositioned to allow for aging (drooping) skin and as the ink is in the epidermis then over time it exfoliates allowing for new, crisp pigments to be re-applied. 8. Will semi permanent makeup */ Microblading work for me?

We always wonder what if?

Most of us look at procedures but don’t actually end up having them done for fear of trying and wondering if this is for them?

If you are looking for saving time in the mornings, if you are a regular swimmer or athlete but have to re-apply your make-up after your workout, then having semi-permanent make-up treatments could be for you.

The procedures available can help you to look younger and more youthful and give you that added boost of confidence to go out every day looking your best and flawless to boot!

If you have allergic reactions to some of the brands of make-up available in the stores and shops, this could be the answer, as you only need one allergy test per treatment to see if the products used will cause any reactions. This will of course save you money of buying products that cannot be returned and can be very pricey!

Semi-permanent make-up can help with colour correction of skin tones so you’ll never have to worry about your skin being unbalanced or having skin patches of colour again.

Some of the most incredible benefits are seen with those clients that have incurred hair loss due to alopecia or cancer treatments. The re-construction of eyebrows etc for such clients can be life changing.

So, semi-permanent make-up * will not only leave you confident and give you a beautiful flawless look, it also saves you time and money.

9. What after care procedures are needed ?

You may resume your normal activities straight after treatment. There may be slight swelling or redness on the area which will go down quickly. The treated area will always appear darker and more exact immediately after the treatment this will lighten and soften over the next few days. There may be slight flaking over the area during healing.

Your semi permanent make-up * may need a touch-up visit 3 months after the initial application of pigment, to adjust shape, colour or density, this is included in the price, provided it is completed within 3 months of initial treatment. We recommend that you return to the clinic once a year. Maintenance is minimal. Other guidelines for getting the best from your permanent makeup will be given during your consultation or treatment period.

REMEMBER
Treated area will be more exact, dark and intense when first treated.
The skin will take 3-7 days to return to normal.
It is normal to loose 1/3 of the colour during this initial period.
Always use a sunscreen on make-up to prevent colour change and loss.
